Pros:

1)Beautiful watch that looks like a regular watch on my wrist. Not too thick like the S3 was and very lightweight, the stock band is super soft and comfortable.
GPS is excellent, just like Garmin devices always are.
2)Battery life is good, not as good as the original Vivoactive but still really good considering the size and what it does. After 24 hours off the charger and going on 1 four mile run, the battery is at 67%. I imagine I will get just under a week between charges at this pace.
3)Display is good and the backlight is plenty bright. I have it 40% brightness and it's fine there.Data fields are good, very similar to original Vivoactive.
4)Works in the pool, GPS is accurate (as far as I can tell), music playback is ok once you get files loaded, comfortable and lightweight
5)Battery life - I get about 5 - 6 days if I use a watch face with only essential information ( time, date, steps, bluetooth connection) and that is with active heart rate, sleep tracking, and doing 4-5 gym activities ( treadmill and lifting) a week. If I use a more demanding watchface with everything on it, it does drop down to about 3-4 days but that is still pretty awesome with all the activity tracking it does.
6)Great size - I do have smaller wrists and I think it looks great! This is a subjective viewpoint though.Software is easy to use
7)Has weather, notifications, and other apps that are very useful for day to day life.
8)Garmin Connect is pretty awesome. My buddy and I both have garmin watches and we can see how each other are doing with steps and also our runs! The app also is easy to use and has so many features including exporting to Strava.
9)Waterproof up to 5atm,- Stress tracking is a really neat feature
10) Although I haven't used it yet, you can use music on this device... I am just waiting for them to release spotify for it (PLEASE DO THIS SOON!)
Incredibly lightweight and comfortable.
11)Battery lasts 2-3 days.,Sleep data is really cool, assuming it's accurate.
The use of the face vs. button is well thought out.,Garmin connect app is excellent in general.,Love the bluetooth sync.
12)Run pause/resume is pretty good, as long as it's got good satellite coverage. If not, meh.

Cons:

1)My biggest complaint is that for $300, I was hoping the smart watch features would be better. You can reply to a text message with preset replies, it would be nice to be able to use more than the preset replies though. Also, I have found no way to delete an email on the phone from the watch. This was a great feature on the S3, to be able to delete email on my phone without having to pull it out.
2)Some of the apps in the Garmin store do not work right with this watch yet, even though the app says it's compatible . Example is the stopwatch app, there is no way to reset the time or add laps. I'm guessing this will get sorted out as apps are updated and more come out.
3)The band is WAY too small, and apparently the 3P vendor environment for these things hasn't caught onto the fact that anyone other than children would ever use it. I've been through 3 replacement bands from different companies, and all of them are too small. The one from Garmin's retention band actually wouldn't even go over the 2-3 mm of space left. I am not a huge guy, so...I can only assume they size these things for tiny people.
4)There are no 3P music apps. None. Oh, there are three available in the Garmin App Store, but they either cost to install, require microtransactions, or ARE FULLY IN JAPANESE. So I'll clarify: there are no *USEFUL* music apps. Unless you can read Japanese. Get your sh*t together, Garmin; open your app environment to other developers. How you don't have Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, or Google Play available is nothing short of ridiculous. You only *make* money on partnerships like that. Fail.
5)The display is essentially useless in full daylight. It's pleasantly illuminated indoors, but there does not appear to be a brightness adjustment feature that allows you to see the display outside. I would say mine is defective, but the Garmin forums are full of similar complaints.
6)i don't know if wearable tech is simply too new or what, but for what these companies are charging, to me the feature set is just too thin to justify the expense. Unless you have an iPhone. If you do,
7)just get an Apple Watch. If not, well...sorry. This Vivoactive 3 thing isn't great.
8)The watch face is a rounded gorilla glass and I am not sure how tough that will be. I bought IQ Shield protectors so I no longer worry about this.
9)I wish it wasn't all plastic. I feel they kind of cheaped out when other watches( Like the Amazfit Stratos) use ceramic for their watches. The weight difference between the two wasn't huge so, why all plastic?
10)Sleep tracking sometimes is not entirely reliable, I think it's pretty good but Garmin has not caught up to other fitness trackers in this field.
11)Heart rate is either dead accurate (running, cardio, walking) or a complete miss ( running, biking, etc).
12)The screen is nice but not as nice as some other devices.
The backlight. At 100%, it's not very bright.
It's supposed to light up when you tilt your wrist. Does it about 20% of the time.
Like others, the strap caused a mild rash on my wrist if left on overnight. Might try a different band for extended wearing.
If you run in hilly terrain, the GPS is spotty, causing the min/mile to annoyingly fluctuate. It can drop from 10:30 to 7:30 pace in like 15 seconds, and anyone who runs a lot knows when they change their pace that much.
13)Heart rate is spotty--sometimes good, sometimes way high. It's annoying to have it read 100bpm when you do a manual check and it's 65bpm.
Often takes a few minutes to get the satellites at the start of a run.
Tried using it for weig
